4 Charity Foundation

The Foundation supports work in three interconnected areas: social welfare, poverty relief and education. Within these, it funds project-specific activities, core operational costs and educational initiatives, allowing grantees to address both immediate needs and long-term stability. The Trust gives particular attention to programmes that serve Jewish communities, though its geographic scope covers England and Wales, supporting organisations that make a direct difference to people and communities in need.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and community groups, especially those based in or working across England and Wales. The Foundation does not set rigid income thresholds but tends to favour smaller organisations that are closely aligned with its priorities. While open to a range of causes, it prioritises initiatives benefiting Jewish communities alongside general welfare, poverty and education projects, and welcomes applications from organisations with a strong local or community focus.

The Foundation does not accept unsolicited applications or requests from organisations outside its identified priority areas. It does not fund work outside England and Wales, and it does not support for-profit entities or individuals.

Funding is by invitation only, with trustees proactively identifying and approaching pre-selected organisations whose work aligns with the Foundation’s mission. The Trust offers both restricted grants for specific purposes and unrestricted funding for general operations, covering project costs, core costs and educational activities. This approach reflects a preference for long-term, trusted relationships over open competition.
