Alborada Trust

Alborada Trust funds physical health, including medical research targeting conditions such as dementia and cancer; education and skills training, particularly in health sciences; environmental and wildlife conservation initiatives; and poverty and hardship relief through emergency aid and international development. They also support veterinary research in One Health approaches, zoonotic diseases, and working equine welfare in developing regions. Geographically, they fund registered charities working across the UK, Ireland, and Africa, with a priority on Cambridge and Africa.

Alborada Trust supports registered charities working in their funded cause areas. They prioritise organisations with a focus on evidence-based practice, expert delivery, and potential for scalable impact. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications, but new applicants are advised to contact the team to discuss their organisation and project before submitting a formal application. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

Alborada Trust does not fund faith-based projects, pet welfare, arts and culture, marriage guidance, UK children's welfare, zoos, political lobbying, media advocacy, or heavily government-funded entities.

Alborada Trust provides grants through a two-phase online application process. They favour long-term grantee relationships and support catalytic, system-changing interventions. The Trust works by invitation for some partnerships but also accepts unsolicited applications, with new applicants encouraged to make initial contact before applying formally.
