Barry Green Memorial Fund

The Fund supports animal rescue and rehabilitation for abused, neglected, and abandoned animals. It funds core running costs of shelters and rescue centres, emergency veterinary care, rehoming programmes, and welfare standards initiatives. Supported interventions include direct rescue operations, ongoing sanctuary maintenance, specialised care for trauma-affected dogs and cats, and collaborative efforts to promote uniform welfare protocols. The focus is on dogs, cats, and other companion animals across the UK. The Fund also supports spay/neuter programmes and education on responsible ownership to prevent future cruelty.

The Fund gives solely to animal welfare causes and favours grants to established UK animal charities, including both small local rescues and national standards bodies. Eligible organisations must be registered charities focused on animal rescue, rehabilitation, and cruelty prevention. The Fund prioritises groups that demonstrate direct impact on rescue, recovery, and prevention for animals cruelly treated. It does not fund frontline service delivery or routine individual requests, but supports credible rescue operations and veterinary interventions.

The Fund excludes all non-animal welfare causes, generalist charity operations, and routine individual requests absent exceptional cruelty cases. It avoids operational service delivery, preferring grants to established animal charities. Requests for general community support or unrelated charitable activities are not considered.

The Fund provides targeted grantmaking, supporting core costs and project-specific needs. It works with both small local rescues and national bodies, and welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations. The focus is on proven frontline interventions that alleviate cruelty and promote animal welfare.
