The trust funds comprehensive animal welfare activities across England and Wales. This includes rescue and rehoming for companion animals like dogs and cats facing abandonment or abuse, veterinary treatment and rehabilitation for equines, exotics, and big cats in sanctuaries, and wildlife rescue encompassing birds, cetaceans, and woodland species through emergency response and habitat protection care. It also supports operating costs for pet rescue centres addressing neglect and overpopulation, capacity building for wildlife aid groups handling injured or orphaned animals, and core support for sanctuaries providing lifelong refuge for abused domestic pets, farm animals, and wild rescues. Interventions target animals in crisis via practical models such as on-site rehabilitation, emergency veterinary care, fostering networks, release programmes, and cruelty prevention through direct intervention.

Registered charities and community groups in England and Wales can apply. The trust prioritises established organisations offering direct benefits to suffering animals—domestic, wild, or exotic—and values expertise in trauma recovery, ethical rehoming, and compassionate sanctuary models. It focuses on organisations with proven capacity for hands-on care, such as rescue, rehabilitation, and sanctuary provision, rather than grassroots or innovative newcomers. Unsolicited applications are accepted.

The trust does not support human-focused causes, generalist charities, pure research, or advocacy detached from hands-on care. It excludes non-animal welfare activities and overseas projects. Funding is restricted to animal welfare work within England and Wales.

The trust provides targeted support to proven animal charities, funding practical interventions like rescue operations, veterinary care, and sanctuary costs. It is trustee-led and responsive to UK animal crises, prioritising established organisations over innovation or grassroots novelty. The trust welcomes unsolicited approaches.
