Blue Light Card Foundation

The Foundation supports mental and physical health initiatives that benefit current or former Blue Light personnel, volunteers, veterans, armed forces members, and carers. It prioritises programmes that use structured engagement with green or blue spaces to improve wellbeing, are evidence-informed with a clear rationale for impact, foster social connection and peer support, and include sustainable plans for continuation beyond Foundation funding. Grants can fund project delivery, core costs, equipment, and capital works. The Foundation operates across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, funding organisations based anywhere in the UK.

Registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, and community-led groups with charitable purposes can apply. The Foundation prioritises organisations that benefit current or former Blue Light personnel and volunteers, including veterans, armed forces members, and carers. Applicants must be based in the UK and deliver work within England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales. Organisations under investigation by the Charity Commission or other regulatory bodies, those with overdue reporting, qualified accounts, or outstanding monitoring from a previous award are not eligible.

The Foundation does not fund in-house or professional development training, activities or equipment for individual use only, standard operating costs or salaries, or anything commercial, political, or religious in nature. It also excludes faith-based causes and organisations with regulatory issues such as outstanding investigations, overdue reporting, qualified accounts, or unresolved monitoring from previous grants.

The Foundation offers one-off grants and does not require match funding. It welcomes unsolicited applications and funds project delivery, core costs, equipment, and capital works. Programmes are designed to support wellbeing in the Blue Light community, with an emphasis on evidence-informed, peer-led interventions that include plans for sustainability beyond the grant period.
