Bromley Trust

The Trust supports two core programmes: Human Rights and Prison Reform. Within human rights, the focus is on criminal justice, refugees, and migrants. Prison reform covers the criminal justice system, with a particular emphasis on rehabilitation and systemic change. Beneficiaries across both programmes include refugees, children, young people, women, men, disabled people, ethnic minority communities, offenders, and veterans. Work must take place across the UK, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The Trust funds core costs to build organisational resilience, enabling charities to pursue advocacy, policy campaigns, and community support.

Only UK registered charities are eligible to apply. The Trust prioritises organisations that can demonstrate a commitment to wider systemic change, collaboration, and influencing decision-makers. Charities should involve people with lived experience in their governance and have evidence-based approaches. The Trust funds work across all four UK nations. Beneficiary groups include the priority groups listed above. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

The Trust does not fund capital projects, emergency relief, or seed funding. It prefers to support established charities already working towards systemic reform rather than start-ups or one-off initiatives.

The Trust offers multi-year, unrestricted core cost funding to build organisational resilience. It welcomes unsolicited applications and seeks long-term, strategic partnerships with grantees, minimising reporting burdens and valuing deep engagement with the organisations it supports.
