Broughton Community and Sports Association

BCSA funds a broad range of community-focused work. It supports amateur sport and recreation, including grassroots football clubs, inclusive sports pitches, and floodlit facilities that encourage physical activity among children, young people, elderly residents, and people with physical disabilities. Community centre transformations enable arts, culture, heritage events, and social support groups that address isolation. Youth development is supported through after-school clubs, outdoor activities, and skills training, while elderly befriending and low-impact recreation help reduce loneliness. The grantmaker also backs community development initiatives such as advocacy, local economic projects, and volunteering, plus capital improvements for open spaces, equipment, and maintenance. Its work concentrates on Broughton-area rural communities, prioritising preventative health, person-centred inclusion, and community-led interventions that tackle inactivity, social exclusion, and infrastructure deficits.

BCSA welcomes applications from registered charities, community groups, and sports clubs operating within or serving Broughton and the surrounding North Lincolnshire villages. The grantmaker prioritises children and young people at risk of exclusion, isolated elderly residents, and people with disabilities who are seeking inclusive recreation. It also favours grassroots sports and youth groups that emphasise volunteering and lasting community benefits. Organisations with lived experience leadership, a collaborative ethos, and a commitment to holistic wellbeing through sport, arts, and self-help are especially encouraged. There is no religious restriction, and BCSA values strong resident support and local accountability in the groups it backs.

BCSA does not fund statutory duties, private commercial projects, or activities outside the local Broughton area. Funding is reserved for voluntary and community-led work that benefits residents of Broughton and North Lincolnshire; purely private or non-local ventures fall outside its remit.

BCSA makes grants to voluntary organisations and also acts as a facilities enabler, helping to create and improve local spaces for inclusive activity. It welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible groups and works in partnership with local organisations to support hyper-local impact.
