Carers' Resource

Carers' Resource is an independent, award-winning charity established in 1995 to support unpaid carers of all ages and backgrounds across the Bradford, Craven, Harrogate, and Selby districts of Yorkshire, England. Its core mission is to make life better for carers supporting elderly, ill, disabled, or frail relatives and friends through tailored emotional, practical, and informational services. Rooted in values of compassion, inclusivity, confidentiality, impartiality, accessibility, and empowerment, it champions carers' wellbeing, resilience, and societal value via evidence-led, holistic interventions that address isolation, mental health, life transitions, and balancing care with work or education.

The charity prioritizes direct services for adult and young carers under 18, including one-to-one mentoring, youth clubs and trips, advocacy, benefits advice, employment guidance, respite planning, emergency support, IT training, relaxation classes, craft groups, and confidence-building workshops. It targets vulnerable groups affected by physical/mental illness, disabilities, addiction, or frailty, delivering outcomes like improved wellbeing and access to support networks through co-produced partnerships with statutory agencies and select voluntary organizations.

Carers' Resource does not accept unsolicited applications from external charities or individuals, operating solely as a direct service provider rather than a grant-making trust—no open funding rounds, deadlines, or typical grant ranges exist for outsiders. Small, case-by-case wellbeing payments for engaged carers are handled internally via referrals. Strictly limited to its Yorkshire districts, it excludes national or out-of-area work, distinguishing itself as a hyper-local specialist with deep carer expertise, ideal for collaborative referrals or commissioned projects aligned with unpaid carer empowerment.
