Community Foundation for Staffordshire and Shropshire

The foundation funds a broad range of causes including mental health and wellbeing support, youth opportunities and development, community cohesion and social trust, environmental sustainability, food security, sports and physical activity, emergency response and community recovery, and enterprise development for young people. It also supports rural community strengthening and grassroots community organisations. All work must clearly benefit communities in Staffordshire or Shropshire, with a particular interest in local projects delivered by small groups.

Registered charities, community groups, and social enterprises can apply, provided they have a clear local presence and demonstrate benefit to Staffordshire or Shropshire communities. The foundation prioritises grassroots organisations and those working with disadvantaged groups, including young people, families, and isolated rural communities. Applicants based in Staffordshire, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, and Mid Wales are eligible.

The foundation does not fund activities that promote a particular faith. It also does not typically support core running costs or salaries for established organisations, prioritising project-based work instead.

Grants are made through a flexible, rolling approach, with a strong emphasis on project-based funding. The foundation welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations and supports community-led initiatives that align with its priorities.
