Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation

DRWF prioritises diabetes-related research into pathophysiology, causes, prevention, management, cure, and complications such as macrovascular disease and neuropathy. It also supports education and community initiatives for people with diabetes, including children and adults, as well as their families and healthcare professionals. Funding is available for UK-based academic researchers, institutions, and NHS teams through project grants, clinical fellowships, and pump-priming awards. The foundation focuses on both curative research and practical improvements in diabetes care and self-management.

Eligible applicants include UK-based academic researchers, institutions, and NHS teams working in the field of diabetes. Both individual researchers and organisations are welcome to apply. The foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and does not impose income thresholds. It supports work that benefits people with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, their families, and healthcare professionals. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

DRWF does not fund core costs, capital grants, or unrestricted funding. Projects must be within the field of diabetes; applications outside this area are not considered. The foundation only supports work directly aligned with its mission of research, education, and wellness.
