Fishmongers' Company's Charitable Trust

The Trust supports work in three core areas. In mental health, they fund suicide prevention programmes and youth mental health interventions. In food and nutrition, they tackle food insecurity among children and young people from low-income backgrounds through school feeding, healthy eating education, and community kitchens. In prison education, they support literacy, vocational training, and rehabilitation to reduce reoffending. They fund project delivery, including direct services, research, and early-career development. Geographically, they focus on London, particularly the City of London and high-deprivation boroughs such as Camden, Hackney, Islington, Lambeth, Southwark, Tower Hamlets, Newham, and Westminster.

Eligible organisations are registered charities, social enterprises, and community interest companies. The Trust supports organisations working with children, young people, and offenders. They seek evidence-led, innovative projects that build capacity and address root causes of hardship. Priority is given to groups serving areas of high deprivation in and around the City of London, including the eight named boroughs. There is no religious restriction. The Trust only funds organisations, not individuals, and requires direct applications from the organisation itself.

The Trust does not fund core costs, focusing instead on specific project delivery. They do not fund individuals, applications from organisations with political associations or purposes, nor third-party applications. Their funding is exclusively for programme delivery, not for general operating expenses. Any organisation with a political purpose or association will be ineligible, and they only accept direct applications, not those submitted through intermediaries.

The Trust provides multi-year grants for project delivery. Their funding supports evidence-led, systemic approaches, including direct services, research, and early-career development. They value partnership and welcome unsolicited applications. They do not offer core cost support.
