Happy Days Childrens Charity

The charity funds day trips to destinations such as zoos, farm parks, theme parks, the seaside, or the theatre; group activity holidays at outdoor centres or camps; UK family short breaks; and visiting theatre performances. They support children and young people with additional needs, including those with disabilities, serious illnesses, mental health challenges, or who have experienced abuse, bereavement, domestic violence, or are young carers. The items they can fund include tickets, passes, and transport. They operate across the whole of the UK.

Applications are open to individuals and organisations, including registered charities, schools, and community groups. They prioritise children and young people aged 3-17 with additional needs, such as those with disabilities, serious or life-limiting illnesses, mental health challenges, or who have experienced abuse, bereavement, domestic violence, or are young carers. They work with grassroots charities, SEND schools, young carers' groups, women's refuges, and low-income families. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

The charity does not usually pay for taxis or hire vehicles for family trips. For group trips, non-essential adults would need to be self-funding. They do not fund core costs, capital projects, or activities unrelated to their focus on therapeutic leisure.

The charity funds or part-funds the costs of group activity holidays and day trips. They provide one-off grants for specific activities, such as tickets, passes, and transport. They welcome unsolicited applications via downloadable forms from their website. Match funding is not required.
