The Trust funds organisations working to relieve need within their defined geographical area. Registered charities and community groups operating within the Ancient Parish of Harborne (including Harborne, Smethwick, and parts of Bearwood and Quinton) can apply for organisational grants. Individuals seeking support must apply through recognised referral agencies. The Trust prioritises established organisations that provide essential services to local residents, particularly those facing reduced funding from other sources.

The Trust does not give cash or pay debts such as utilities bills or rent arrears. Grants for floor covering are only considered where there is a serious health and safety issue. Funding is restricted to the defined geographical area and for the relief of poverty, with no support for large capital, research, or national projects.
