Harry Bottom Charitable Trust

The Trust funds a wide range of causes including faith, older people, poverty and hardship, education and skills, physical and mental health, disability, and community development. Support can cover equipment, project delivery, core costs, capital works, and salaries. The Trust prioritises work that directly benefits people in Sheffield and surrounding areas, such as Rotherham, Barnsley, and North East Derbyshire. It will consider applications from national organisations only if they can clearly demonstrate that the support will be used in Sheffield and directly benefit Sheffield's people.

The Trust welcomes applications from registered charities, churches, and hospitals. It does not fund individuals or groups that are not formally constituted. Priority is given to organisations that support the Trust’s charitable objectives, which include advancing the Christian faith and relieving the aged, sick, and poor. Applicants should be based in or serve Sheffield and the surrounding area. The Trust has no religious restriction beyond its own founding faith focus.

The Trust does not support applications from or on behalf of individual persons. It generally declines applications from national organisations unless they can clearly demonstrate that the funding will be used in Sheffield and directly benefit local people.

The Trust offers funding as one-off or ongoing grants, and can cover core costs, project costs, capital works, and salaries. It welcomes unsolicited applications and considers them on a rolling basis. There is no income threshold for applicants, and the Trust does not require match funding.
