Kathleen Beryl Sleigh Charitable Trust

The Trust funds youth development services including after-school clubs, mentoring, and skills training for children and young people at risk of exclusion; elderly care encompassing day services, befriending, and residential support addressing social isolation and loneliness; disability services with an emphasis on sight loss through advocacy, rehabilitation, and peer support; music and cultural programmes such as classical music education and opera outreach; and environmental conservation including wildlife protection and habitat restoration. Supported interventions span preventative welfare, therapeutic activities, community outreach, core operational costs, and cultural projects tackling sensory impairments, age-related decline, youth disengagement, artistic access barriers, and ecological threats. The Trust operates throughout England and Wales, with a worldwide area of benefit.

The Trust supports UK-registered charities and community groups serving children aged 5-19, isolated older people, individuals with sight loss or physical disabilities, and wildlife enthusiasts. It prioritises frontline charities delivering person-centred welfare, therapeutic interventions, and community enrichment for those facing isolation, sensory loss, or developmental barriers. There are no religious requirements.

The Trust does not fund emergency relief, seed funding, or non-charitable activities. It focuses on established charitable work rather than start-up ventures or crisis response, and expects all supported activities to fall within its charitable remit.

The Trust operates a discretionary philanthropy model, providing flexible, unrestricted support for both grassroots and established providers. It welcomes unsolicited applications and values long-term partnerships that demonstrate direct beneficiary impact through resilient, culturally enriched lives.
