Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation

The foundation funds work across faith, education and skills, arts and culture, physical health, poverty and hardship, employment, community development, the environment, homelessness, older people, disability, and sport and recreation. It supports projects that advance the Christian faith, particularly within the Church of England, as well as urban and rural regeneration, relief of financial hardship and unemployment, education and training, housing, public amenities, preservation of historic buildings, recreational facilities, environmental conservation, public health, and the promotion of arts including museums, theatres and music education. The geographic focus is firmly on Yorkshire, with a preference for projects that demonstrate clear public benefit within the region.

Registered charities, community groups and faith groups are eligible to apply. The foundation prioritises organisations working in Yorkshire, with a strong emphasis on projects that benefit local communities. It is particularly interested in initiatives that align with its Christian ethos and combine Christian outreach with practical community benefit. Applicants should demonstrate clear public benefit within Yorkshire, and while national charities may apply, they must show a strong Yorkshire focus.

The foundation does not typically support activities that fall outside its charitable objects or projects that lack a strong Yorkshire focus. It also does not fund major building improvements or church repairs that are solely for worship purposes.

The foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and supports a wide range of funding needs, including project costs, capital and revenue costs, core costs, seed funding, capacity building, and multi-year support. It favours projects that align with its Christian ethos and demonstrate clear public benefit within Yorkshire, often working in partnership with local organisations.
