Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust

The Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust is an independent Welsh grant-maker founded to harness the legacy of the Millennium Stadium for enhancing quality of life across Wales, fostering inclusion, reducing disadvantage, and promoting cultural pride through arts, community, environment, and sport. Its values emphasize equity, social cohesion, local identity, environmental stewardship, and broadening access to opportunities for excluded groups, guided by a philosophy of project-specific funding that empowers grassroots initiatives. Believing change arises from small-scale, high-impact interventions building social capital, expanding participation in recreational, artistic, and cultural activities, and strengthening community resilience for those with fewest resources.

Prioritizing arts through community arts projects, music workshops, folklore festivals, and Welsh language/history programs offering creative arts and cultural opportunities for marginalised young people and adults facing social exclusion; community initiatives tackling social isolation via peer support groups, local cohesion events, and inclusive recreational activities for families in poverty and disadvantaged rural communities; environment via biodiversity enhancement, green space stewardship, and outdoor education promoting therapeutic nature activities for children and youth with barriers to access; sport through equipment provision for youth sports clubs, after-school clubs, and inclusive physical activities increasing participation for disadvantaged children aged 5-19, young people facing economic barriers, and excluded ethnic minorities. Supports targeted interventions like cultural heritage workshops, community-led environmental projects, sports mentoring, and arts-based social capital building addressing discrimination, cultural disconnection, and limited recreational access, valuing community-led, preventative approaches that celebrate Welsh identity and enable grassroots delivery of play, development, and wellbeing services.

Excludes religious or political causes, salaries, core costs, overheads, or unrestricted support, focusing solely on time-limited projects and capital items for tangible activities.
