Pamela Champion Foundation

The foundation funds a broad spectrum of activities, with a particular emphasis on local priorities in health, education, welfare and community development. Grants are flexible and can support projects, core costs, or general organisational support. Recipients are registered charities whose work demonstrably benefits communities in Surrey and Kent. There are no prescribed sectors, demographics or programmes; the trustees choose recipients at their discretion to meet evolving needs. While the funder is generalist, its regional focus means that work must be rooted in these two counties to receive support.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities with strong ties to Surrey or Kent. The foundation is especially suited to small to medium-sized local organisations of modest scale; no strict income thresholds apply. There is no religious restriction, and charities from any faith or none may be considered. No specific beneficiary groups are mandated, but the trustees seek demonstrable benefits to Surrey and Kent residents. The trust prefers embedded local charities ready for trustee-led evaluation.

The foundation excludes non-registered organisations. It does not mandate particular causes or demographics, but charities should be able to show clear benefit to Surrey or Kent residents; work unrelated to these areas falls outside its remit.

The foundation works by invitation only and does not accept unsolicited applications. It offers flexible grants that can cover projects, core costs, or general support, with funding drawn from investment income. Grants tend to be modest and are distributed to multiple recipients each year. The trustees are conservative stewards of the endowment, taking decisions collectively.
