Pilots Together

The funder prioritises three thematic areas: direct hardship grants for emergency living expenses and debt relief; mental health and wellbeing support via confidential helplines, counselling signposting, and psychological interventions; and peer networks, social reconnection initiatives, industry advocacy, and employment transition guidance such as skills retraining. All activities target individual pilots and their families affected by aviation-specific crises. The charity's work is UK-wide without regional restrictions.

Support is strictly limited to individual former professional pilots who were previously employed in the UK, along with their families, who are affected by redundancy, unemployment, or aviation sector downturns. There is no religious restriction. Organisations, charities, other aviation staff, and the general public are not eligible. The charity prioritises those facing immediate financial hardship or mental health challenges related to their professional circumstances.

PilotsTogether does not support organisations, charities, other aviation staff (such as cabin crew or ground personnel), or the general public. It also does not fund activities outside its hyper-specific focus on former UK-employed professional pilots and their families, nor does it provide grants for non-aviation-related needs or for pilots still employed in the industry.

The charity operates through a peer-led, beneficiary-centred model, providing direct hardship grants alongside case-managed holistic support. Funding is discreet and rapid, designed to preserve dignity and combat isolation. It does not accept unsolicited applications from organisations; support is directed exclusively to individual pilots and their families through a confidential assessment process.
