These interventions are available to individuals across the UK, with no geographic restrictions. The charity focuses on post-incident recovery and financial hardship relief, funding direct costs such as therapy sessions and emergency needs. It does not fund organisational projects or group activities; all support is channelled to the individual member or their family.

The PFOA provides support exclusively to individual UK firearms officers, Taser-trained officers, associated staff, and their immediate families. Eligibility is open to any such individual across the UK, with no income or organisational size restrictions. Assistance is accessed through internal referrals from within the policing community, rather than through direct applications from external organisations. The charity's peer-led approach ensures beneficiaries understand the unique context of armed policing.

The trust does not accept unsolicited applications from external charities, organisations, or groups. It does not fund core costs, project costs, or capital expenditure for any organisation. Support is reserved exclusively for individual members of the armed policing community and their families. No funding is provided for activities outside the scope of direct welfare intervention for this specific beneficiary group.
