Funding is exclusively available to teams and departments within Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust. This includes wards, departments, community hospitals, and specialist centres. External organisations, community groups, or individual members of the public are not eligible. The charity prioritises projects that directly benefit patients, families, and staff within the Trust's care. Applicants must be part of the Trust and able to demonstrate how their proposal will improve care, wellbeing, or research locally.

The charity does not fund core NHS costs, such as statutory medical treatments or mandatory staff salaries. It also does not support external organisations, community groups, or individuals outside the Trust. Projects unrelated to the Trust's patient care, staff wellbeing, or research priorities are excluded.
