Individual grants are also available for essential needs such as equipment or training. The foundation operates UK-wide with no regional limits, focusing on those aged 25 and under who are blind or vision-impaired.

Eligible applicants include UK-registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies, and social enterprises whose work directly benefits blind or vision-impaired children, young people, and adults aged 25 and under. Individuals who are vision-impaired, aged 25 or under, and permanent UK residents may also apply for essential needs. The foundation welcomes unsolicited applications and looks for organisations with a clear focus on this beneficiary group. There are no faith or regional restrictions; any UK-based organisation serving this population can apply.

The foundation does not fund research projects, umbrella bodies, or non-specialist schools. It also declines repeat applications from organisations that have received funding or been declined within the previous twelve months. The emphasis remains on discretionary, flexible support for those most at risk, prioritising direct work with blind and vision-impaired young people.
