No strict income thresholds apply, but organisations should have a track record of delivering practical assistance. Distinctively, the Trust does not accept unsolicited applications; it relies on trustee discretion and prior familiarity. Therefore, only charities already known to the trustees or those introduced through existing networks are considered.

The Trust does not fund emergency aid or seed funding. It also avoids organisations outside its focus on disability and sight loss, preferring a concentrated portfolio.
