Royal Docks

The Trust funds one-off projects across a range of themes including education and training, youth and children's programmes, social and community activities, cultural events, environmental efforts, and network-building. Examples include after-school clubs, skills workshops, festivals, sports engagement, and small-scale capital equipment. All funded work must benefit residents of the Royal Docks, Beckton, Canning Town, and Custom House areas of Newham, with a strong preference for hyper-local initiatives that address socioeconomic challenges and foster inclusion.

Eligible applicants include UK-registered charities, community groups, and faith groups that are small to medium in size and embedded in the locality. The Trust prioritises resident-led, youth-led, and voluntary, community, and faith sector initiatives. Organisations must demonstrably serve residents of the Royal Docks, Beckton, Canning Town, and Custom House areas. There are no formal income limits, but the Trust prefers grassroots groups with strong local roots. London-wide or external projects are not eligible.

The Trust does not fund unrestricted core costs, large-scale efforts, or projects that benefit areas outside the Royal Docks, Beckton, Canning Town, and Custom House. London-wide or external projects are ineligible. It also avoids funding that does not directly address local socioeconomic challenges or foster inclusion and cohesion.

The Trust provides one-off project grants rather than unrestricted core funding. It welcomes unsolicited applications and uses a participatory approach to decision-making, reflecting its commitment to resident-led and community-driven funding.
