Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund - SCIAF

SCIAF funds projects tackling hunger and livelihoods, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, education, health (including HIV/AIDS), gender equality, disability inclusion, and climate adaptation. They support locally led initiatives such as sustainable farming, skills training, trauma healing, and reconstruction. Their work spans focus countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Zambia, Cambodia, and Colombia. Funding is directed toward humanitarian relief and long-term development, with a focus on empowering marginalised communities.

Eligible partners are pre-selected medium-to-large local NGOs, Caritas members, and church-based agencies with proven capacity for complex, multi-year projects. Priority beneficiaries include conflict survivors, women, youth, people with disabilities, displaced families, and those affected by famine or disease. SCIAF works with organisations regardless of faith, but partners must align with the funder's mission and values. Unsolicited applications are not accepted; funding is developed collaboratively with pre-selected organisations.
