The trust funds practical capital projects across several cause areas, including education and training for youth employability, health and disability services (such as therapeutic and adaptive equipment), poverty relief through accommodation improvements and food insecurity aid, arts and heritage initiatives, amateur sport with equipment for clubs and activities, environmental projects enhancing green spaces, and community development addressing social isolation. Supported interventions include respite care equipment, accessible facilities, therapeutic activities like music and art therapy, mentoring, and employment training. Grants are directed to grassroots organisations within Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Blackburn, Blackpool, Halton, and Warrington, with a particular priority for work in Lancashire.

Applicants must be registered charities or other legally recognised charitable organisations. The trust prioritises grassroots charities that deliver direct, equipment-driven improvements for children, young people, elderly individuals, people with disabilities, and their carers. Local impact and an evidence-based, community-grounded ethos are important. There is no religious restriction.

The trust does not fund core revenue costs, general running expenses, large building projects, or unrestricted funding. It focuses solely on proven, viable capital needs rather than ongoing operational or salary costs.

The trust welcomes unsolicited applications and favours small-scale interventions that deliver immediate, tangible benefits. Its funding style is trustee-led and selective, emphasising wide resource distribution and a preference for overhead-light models.
