swftcharity.co.ukAbout SWFT Charity
SWFT Charity is the dedicated charitable arm of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. It exists to fund projects, equipment, and services that enhance patient care, staff wellbeing, and community health beyond standard NHS provision. Rooted in compassion, community solidarity, and excellence, the Charity works closely with clinical teams to address unmet needs identified by frontline staff. Its funding character is responsive and integrated, empowering grassroots innovation through staff-suggested initiatives. The Charity supports a broad spectrum of health initiatives across Trust sites, reflecting NHS values of integrity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement.
What SWFT Charity funds
The Charity funds a wide range of health initiatives, including specialist medical equipment, ward refurbishments, family comfort upgrades, patient activities, rehabilitation enhancements, and staff morale projects. Support is directed to acute, paediatric, elderly, and community settings across Trust sites in Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, South Warwickshire, and select neighbouring areas, including children's services linked to Coventry and Solihull. Beneficiaries include NHS patients of all ages, families, staff, and visitors.
Who can apply
Funding is strictly internal to Trust staff, departments, and clinical teams. Unsolicited external applications from charities or other organisations are not accepted, unless directly partnering with SWFT services. Projects must serve the Trust's geographical area. The Charity prioritises initiatives that address unmet needs identified by frontline staff, benefiting patients, families, staff, and visitors across all age groups and care settings.
What SWFT Charity doesn't fund
The Charity does not fund core costs, unrestricted grants, or initiatives outside the Trust. Unsolicited external applications from non-Trust organisations are not accepted unless they involve direct partnership with SWFT services. Funding is limited to projects that align with the Trust's clinical and community priorities.
How they like to fund
SWFT Charity funds through staff-suggested initiatives, working closely with clinical teams to identify and address specific needs. Funding is project-based, targeting equipment, refurbishments, and services that enhance care beyond standard NHS provision. The Charity does not accept unsolicited external applications; it operates by invitation and internal suggestion from Trust staff and departments.
