Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities that are demonstrably advancing traditional Jewish values, particularly those serving Jewish communities of specific ethnic or racial origins. The trust favours small to medium-sized organisations, though it does not set rigid income thresholds. It considers institutions, charities, and voluntary bodies such as orthodox synagogues, schools, and communal organisations. Crucially, Tsedoko operates on an invite-only basis, so it only accepts applications from organisations it has approached directly.

The trust does not fund individuals, non-Jewish causes, capital projects, emergency appeals, or unrestricted funding. Grants are not made for general charitable purposes that fall outside the advancement of traditional Judaism. The trust's focus is on its invited partners, and it does not engage with public grant rounds or open calls.

Tsedoko funds both project and core costs, offering grants to organisations it has invited. It operates on a stewardship basis, distributing nearly all its funds as grants to aligned orthodox Jewish institutions. The trust does not accept unsolicited applications.
