Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Settlement

The Trust funds project delivery in three cause areas: education and skills, poverty and hardship, and peace and development. All grants must have an educational aim, element or content. For overseas projects, the Trust will consider funding aid projects essential to enable education or personal development. They support work that fosters international cooperation and enables access to education in low-income communities. Grants are available for projects in the UK and overseas, with a particular interest in initiatives that combine education with broader social and developmental goals.

UK registered charities, schools, and universities may apply for funding. The Trust does not fund individuals. They prioritise organisations that share their commitment to international understanding and social justice. All applicants are expected to have secured matched funding before applying.

The Trust excludes core costs, salaries, capital works, and retrospective funding. They do not fund individual students, gap year volunteers, or projects without a clear educational aim. No funding is available for individuals.

The Trust offers both smaller and larger grants, with all awards requiring matched funding from applicants. If an applicant has raised half of their project budget, the Trust will consider awarding matched funding up to a maximum of half. Unsolicited applications are welcome and are considered through their grant programmes.
