Angela Gallagher Memorial Fund

The Fund supports project delivery across a range of causes including children and youth, disability, physical health, poverty and hardship, and carers. Beneficiaries include children, young people and carers. Specific priorities include charities helping children with disabilities, life limiting illnesses or those from deprived backgrounds, plus organisations supporting families as a whole. Youth groups, young carer groups, outward bound programmes and some school projects are also funded. The Fund operates UK-wide and also supports UK-registered charities working abroad, provided they have a UK address and charity number.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities and Community Interest Companies. The Fund supports organisations working with children, young people and carers. It focuses on small charities, as large UK charities are excluded. Organisations that successfully applied within the past year are not eligible for a new grant. The Fund also considers applications from UK-registered charities working overseas.

The Fund does not support individuals, political organisations, universities, or charities that raise money to fund other charities. It also excludes UK organisations that are not registered with the Charity Commission or without CIC registration. Large UK charities are not funded, and repeat applications within 12 months of a successful grant are not accepted.

The Fund provides targeted project funding rather than core costs or general running expenses. It welcomes unsolicited applications from eligible organisations. Grants are typically modest, with larger donations considered in exceptional circumstances. The Fund awards grants on a one-off basis, and organisations that have received a grant must wait 12 months before reapplying.
