Areti Charitable Trust

The Trust supports projects that benefit children and young people within the Lancaster City Council area, including Lancaster and Morecambe. It funds a range of activities and costs such as outdoor learning, forest schools, residential trips, green festivals, and heritage reconnection initiatives. Other eligible costs include equipment, capital works for nature engagement, transport, events, and project delivery. UK-registered charities, community interest companies, community groups, and academic institutions working with children and young people in North Lancashire, especially Lancaster and Morecambe, are eligible to apply. The Trust prioritises projects serving disadvantaged youth, including those with infirmities, disabilities, or facing poverty or social and economic hardship. It shows a preference for small to medium-sized grassroots organisations without strict income thresholds, and welcomes unsolicited applications from local groups.

The Trust does not fund general appeals or work outside its defined geography of the Lancaster City Council area. It rarely supports core or unrestricted costs unless directly tied to project outcomes. Grants to individuals are not made; only organisations may apply.
