Bala Lake Railway Trust

The Trust funds capital projects, infrastructure, artefact restoration, and heritage programming in north-west Wales, specifically in Bala, Dinorwic, Penrhyn, and Blaenau Ffestiniog. Supported activities include restoration of steam locomotives, rolling stock, and artefacts such as the 1896 director’s saloon, as well as exhibitions, educational outreach like school weeks, and community events that highlight industrial history. The Red Dragon Project, extending the railway into Bala for tourism and regeneration, is a key initiative.
