Gerald and Gail Ronson Family Foundation

The Foundation funds Jewish education, including inclusive schools, mental health for children and youth, community security, Holocaust education, medical research, children’s hospices, vulnerable welfare, humanitarian relief, and capital projects such as hospital equipment, school expansions, and infrastructure in Israel. Support also extends to arts, women’s health, rare diseases, and under-resourced communities, often through multi-year grants for programmes, core costs, capacity building, and emergencies. Geographic focus spans the UK, especially London, Israel, and select international projects.

Eligible entities are UK-registered charities from England and Wales, with a preference for medium-to-large established organisations serving Jewish or wider causes. There are no strict income thresholds, but beneficiaries typically have national or international scope. The Foundation prioritises organisations with strong local roots and a track record of impact, and it does not restrict applications based on religious context.

The Foundation avoids small grants and competitive processes, focusing instead on catalytic, high-impact philanthropy. It does not accept unsolicited applications, working exclusively by invitation through trustee networks. Grants are not made to individuals or non-UK registered charities outside of select international projects.

The Foundation provides multi-year grants for programmes, core costs, capacity building, and emergencies. It acts as an anchor funder, forging sustained partnerships with established charities through proactive, relational grant-making. All funding is by invitation only, with no open application process.
