Byfleet United Charity

Support for Individuals covers furniture and homewares, kitchen appliances, school uniforms, supermarket vouchers, clothing and footwear, education resources, payment of services, electrical goods, and debt and arrears assistance when working with Citizens Advice or other debt charities. This programme is for residents of Byfleet or West Byfleet. Community Grants support schools, community groups and registered charities working within the Ancient Parish of Byfleet. Priority areas are alleviating financial hardship and food poverty, improving wellbeing and reducing social isolation, and improving educational attainment for disadvantaged children and young people. Both streams focus on direct, practical help addressing immediate needs and building long-term resilience.

Individuals living in Byfleet or West Byfleet for more than 12 months can apply for Support for Individuals. Schools, community groups and registered charities that are either based in the Ancient Parish of Byfleet or serve its residents are eligible for Community Grants. The charity prioritises people and organisations tackling poverty, supporting older adults, and working with children and young people. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

Byfleet United Charity does not fund capital works. This exclusion applies across both programmes, meaning building projects or major structural improvements are not supported. No other specific exclusions are stated for Community Grants. Organisations or individuals based outside the Ancient Parish of Byfleet or not serving its residents are also ineligible, ensuring all funding remains tightly focused on the local area.

Both programmes accept unsolicited applications. Support for Individuals is offered on a rolling basis. The charity provides one-off support through its individual stream and project or core cost grants through its community stream.
