Cardiff YMCA (1910) Trust

The Trust funds activities that address homelessness and support young people. Grants can cover capital works, equipment, project delivery and core costs. Applications must meet one or more outcomes: improving quality of life for young people, groups or communities; promoting inclusivity; supporting vulnerable individuals; promoting well-being; or providing safe accommodation for homeless people. Work must take place in the South Wales region, with priority given to Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Newport. The Trust also supports revenue costs for specific charitable objects that align with these priorities.

Registered charities and voluntary organisations operating in South Wales, particularly in Cardiff, the Vale of Glamorgan and Newport, can apply. The Trust supports work benefiting young people, homeless people and the wider community. Organisations should be able to demonstrate how their activities meet at least one of the Trust's priority outcomes. Some legal forms are not eligible, and organisations that have received Trust funding within the last two years are unlikely to proceed – see the exclusions listed below.

The Trust does not fund individuals, profit-making organisations or any group that has already received a grant within the last two years. It also does not normally support schools, faith groups, community groups, social enterprises, community benefit societies, CICs, CLGs or unincorporated associations. A further larger grant is not available to an organisation that has already been awarded one.

The Trust runs two schemes: a small grants scheme for one-off funding and a larger grants scheme that can support projects over up to three years. Grants can cover capital works, equipment, project delivery and core costs. Match funding is not required. Unsolicited applications are welcomed, and the Trust assesses proposals against its published priorities.
