Christian Science Trust in Great Britain

The Trust supports the promotion and extension of Christian Science in the United Kingdom through Church Manual-based activities. Funded activities include lectures and public talks, Reading Room upgrades, church signage, IT enhancements for online outreach, essential building repairs, and compliance improvements such as disabled access and fire regulations. Projects must demonstrate clear ties to Christian Science advancement and financial need. The Trust requires match funding, with applicants contributing at least a quarter of project costs.

Eligible applicants are UK-based entities including Christian Science branch churches, societies, informal groups, college organizations, Mother Church appointees, Committees on Publication, and nurses. Both faith groups and community groups may apply. There are no income thresholds or size restrictions. Applicants must be UK entities and must contribute at least a quarter of project costs. The Trust does not fund individuals.

The Trust does not fund core costs, salaries, or routine operational expenses. Excluded activities include modifications solely for generating income, ongoing subscriptions or maintenance fees, and retrospective costs (applications must be submitted before expenses are incurred). Secular or interfaith efforts and activities outside the United Kingdom are not supported.

The Trust awards grants on a rolling basis for project delivery, capital works, and equipment. Funding is provided as a contribution toward project costs, with applicants required to provide match funding of at least a quarter of the total. The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications. Grants are one-off rather than multi-year, and successful applicants must submit fruitage reports after project completion.
