Clothworkers' Foundation

The Foundation supports organisations tackling homelessness, disability, mental health, poverty, and issues affecting children, older people, and those in the criminal justice system. It funds capital projects across the UK, including the purchase or refurbishment of buildings, vehicles, equipment, and IT infrastructure. As a generalist funder, it prioritises beneficiary voice and lived experience, and works with organisations that are deeply rooted in their communities.

UK-registered charities, community interest companies, and social enterprises are eligible to apply. The Foundation looks for organisations that are embedded in their communities and serve marginalised and disadvantaged people. It offers different grant programmes tailored to an organisation's income level, welcoming applications from both smaller and larger entities. There is no religious restriction on who can apply.

The Foundation does not fund organisations that have received a grant offer from it within the past five years. It also excludes organisations that promote a particular religion or provide services exclusively to people of a particular faith. Revenue costs, core costs, and unrestricted funding are not supported.

The Foundation provides capital grants only, for specific tangible assets. It operates two programmes – a Small Grant and a Large Grant – which differ according to the applicant's income. Unsolicited applications are welcome, and the Foundation is responsive to the needs of organisations it supports.
