Community Foundation for Wakefield

The Foundation funds work addressing homelessness, domestic abuse, children and youth needs, and poverty hardship. Support is provided for emergency needs and equipment, through direct goods provision of tangible items and small financial grants for immediate needs. Essential services addressing basic necessities are also covered. The geographic focus is the Wakefield Metropolitan District and the Five Towns area, including surrounding villages.

The Foundation supports individuals in need, including people experiencing homelessness, individuals fleeing domestic abuse, children lacking basic necessities, and families struggling with fuel poverty. Priority is given to those within the Wakefield Metropolitan District and Five Towns area. The Foundation does not require lengthy application processes, aiming to provide immediate relief to those who are most vulnerable and overlooked.

The Foundation does not fund national organisations without local ties, activities lacking community impact, or work targeting non-local beneficiaries. It focuses on areas where statutory and charitable provision falls short.

The Foundation provides support on an immediate, reactive basis without lengthy processes.
