Dacorum Community Trust

The Trust funds immediate crisis relief projects that address poverty, homelessness, and acute hardship. Support covers practical essentials such as household goods, supermarket and energy vouchers, bedding, children’s equipment, and seasonal aid. Activities must directly benefit residents of the Borough of Dacorum in Hertfordshire only. The Trust prioritises work that promotes wellbeing, family stability, and referral support for vulnerable individuals and families, including children, elderly people, refugees, and asylum seekers. It shows a strong preference for small, grassroots organisations embedded in the local area.

Charities registered in the UK and community groups based in Dacorum Borough are eligible. The Trust favours small to medium-sized, grassroots voluntary organisations that are deeply rooted in the local community. Applicants must serve Dacorum residents exclusively. Beneficiary groups prioritised include children, elderly people, refugees, asylum seekers, and other vulnerable individuals facing financial hardship, illness, unemployment, debt, domestic violence, or homelessness.

The Trust does not fund advocacy, capital projects, research, or repeated grants. Activities that take place outside the Borough of Dacorum are not supported. Similarly, organisations that are not locally based or that serve non-Dacorum residents are excluded.

The Trust makes one-off grants for crisis relief, providing practical support rather than ongoing or multi-year funding. It welcomes unsolicited applications and works in partnership with local organisations such as Citizens Advice and other community groups to ensure swift, targeted help. The Trust’s approach is personal and responsive, focusing on urgent need where other assistance is unavailable.
