The Trust funds work that enhances the care, welfare, and opportunities for people with learning disabilities. This includes direct services, practical activities, advocacy, healthcare, social welfare, enrichment, research, and wellbeing initiatives. It supports both core costs and direct project expenses, provided the majority of beneficiaries have learning disabilities or funds are ring-fenced for them. The Trust operates UK-wide, with no geographic restrictions, and favours projects with measurable, practical outcomes. It is particularly interested in organisations that make a direct impact on the lives of children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities.

Only UK-registered charities with at least three years of accounts are eligible to apply. The Trust prefers small to medium-sized organisations, though larger national charities may qualify if funds are ring-fenced for people with learning disabilities. Beneficiaries should primarily be children, young people, and adults with learning disabilities. There are no religious or geographic restrictions; the Trust welcomes applications from across the UK.

The Trust does not support building projects, administrative costs, or work that does not primarily benefit people with learning disabilities. It restricts its funding to charities with a clear focus on this group, excluding broader disability causes that are not specific to learning disabilities.

The Trust welcomes unsolicited applications and is open to direct approaches from eligible charities. It funds both core costs and project expenses, emphasising measurable, practical outcomes. The Trust typically makes one-off grants and values a conservative approach to ensure long-term sustainability.
