De Brye Charitable Trust

The Trust supports health and disability initiatives across England and Wales. Funded activities include specialist equipment and adaptive technologies for physically disabled individuals, residential care and housing schemes for older people experiencing isolation or mobility challenges, and programmes for visually impaired people that promote independence and daily living skills. They also fund care interventions for orphans and neglected children addressing trauma and developmental needs, as well as therapeutic activities for young people with complex health conditions such as encephalitis or brain injuries. Other supported work includes inclusive outdoor pursuits like accessible sailing and adaptive skiing, day services and respite care, peer support groups for families, and adventure programmes for disabled youth.

The Trust welcomes applications from registered charities and community groups operating in England and Wales. They prioritise grassroots organisations delivering direct support to physically disabled children and adults, isolated elderly residents, visually impaired individuals, and neglected children. Young people with complex health conditions are also a key beneficiary group. There is no religious restriction on eligibility. The Trust favours organisations that provide person-centred, practical solutions and have a strong local focus within the areas they serve.

The Trust does not fund general social welfare initiatives outside their specific focus areas of health, disability, and support for elderly and youth. They also do not support broad social programmes or activities that fall outside the scope of their stated priorities. Applications from individuals are not accepted.

The Trust takes a trustee-driven approach, offering flexible, needs-based funding with a long-term commitment to the charities they support. They prioritise grassroots delivery of inclusive activities, housing stability, and life-enhancing equipment. Unsolicited applications are welcome, and the Trust favours direct, person-centred projects over broad social programmes.
