Delius Trust

Thematic priorities centre on performances of rarely heard, major Delius works including orchestral, choral, and operatic repertoire presented by professional ensembles and orchestras domestically and internationally. The trust also sponsors high-fidelity recordings by distinguished conductors, soloists, and ensembles capturing historical and contemporary interpretations. Scholarly publications such as critical editions, performing scores, and analytical studies are supported, as are archival preservation activities securing manuscripts, correspondence, and ephemera for public institutions like national libraries. Subordinate support extends to organisations promoting broader British musical heritage through concerts, educational outreach, and recordings of contemporaries' compositions.

Applications are accepted from registered charities and other committed organisations, including professional ensembles, orchestras, educational institutions, and specialist promoters. The trust targets audiences underserved by mainstream programming, music scholars advancing research, performers specialising in neglected repertoire, and communities gaining cultural access via live events and media dissemination. Organisations with innovative programming and scholarly depth in British classical music from the late nineteenth century are well placed to apply. Unsolicited applications are welcomed.

Exclusions encompass capital projects like buildings, routine or generic music events, core funding, individual non-Delius composer projects, and activities outside the scope of British classical music from the eligible era.

The trust provides targeted project support rather than core funding, emphasising enduring legacy over routine programming. It partners with organisations that demonstrate scholarly depth and innovative programming and welcomes unsolicited applications.
