Derbyshire Community Health Services Charitable Trust

The Trust funds initiatives that improve the quality of staff facilities, training and education, as well as providing equipment, project delivery, and salaries. These funds are available for all staff and services within Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust to bid against. The ultimate aim is to enhance patient care and staff welfare across the Trust’s services in Derbyshire, supporting areas such as mental health, youth, elderly, and general health where needs arise. The charity focuses on enhancements that go beyond standard NHS provision, ensuring that teams and departments can access resources for tangible benefits to patients and staff.

Only individuals who are staff or departments of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS) can apply for funding. The Trust has restructured its charitable funds into two main funds, allowing all teams and departments access to bid for resources. External organisations such as registered charities, community groups, faith groups, and other registered charities are not eligible. Applicants must be based within DCHS services in Derbyshire. The application is open to all staff, making it an internal fund for the Trust's workforce to support patient care and staff wellbeing.

The Trust does not fund external charities, community groups, faith groups, or registered charities. Only DCHS staff and departments are eligible. The charity does not support projects outside of Derbyshire or those not directly linked to DCHS services. As an internal NHS charity, it focuses exclusively on its own workforce and patients, so any request from outside organisations or individuals not employed by DCHS will not be considered.

Grants are provided through two main funds: a staff general fund and a patient general fund, with staff and departments able to bid against these. The Trust supports training, salaries, project delivery, and equipment. Unsolicited applications are welcomed from DCHS staff and departments. The charity operates with a dedicated Charitable Funds Committee that oversees the distribution. Funding is generally one-off and project-specific, aimed at improvements that directly benefit staff and patients within the Trust.
