Ewell Parochial Trusts (Relief in Need)

The Trust funds poverty relief and financial hardship interventions, including emergency hardship payments, essential purchases like school uniforms, and subsidies for educational activities. Support targets families in crisis, children facing exclusion from school trips or after-school clubs, elderly residents with isolation or basic needs gaps, individuals with mental health challenges via counselling-linked services, physical disabilities through inclusive activities and respite care, complex health needs including cancer care, and food insecurity through foodbank distributions. They also back welfare advocacy, disability services for children with learning disabilities or physical impairments, therapeutic arts programmes, hospital-linked support, and community wellbeing initiatives. All work is delivered within defined parish communities, with beneficiaries referred by schools, health visitors, or social care.

Registered charities, community groups, and schools can apply, with priority given to organisations serving residents of the Ancient Parish of Ewell and the Domain of Lower Kingswood. The Trust favours grassroots partners delivering frontline relief that maintains community cohesion and prevents family breakdown. Beneficiaries include local families, children, elderly residents, and those with mental or physical health challenges, often referred by schools, health visitors, or social care. The Trust serves residents, students, or workers within the historic parish bounds, and welcomes unsolicited applications.

The Trust excludes capital projects, core funding, capacity building, and strategic initiatives, focusing solely on revenue support for direct hardship alleviation. They do not operate with issue-specific agendas, instead prioritising urgent, tangible relief for individuals and families in crisis.

The Trust provides direct grants for essentials and partners with frontline organisations, favouring a non-bureaucratic approach. They support person-centred, community-led models that deliver immediate crisis response, and they welcome unsolicited applications from eligible groups.
