Family Fund Trust

The Trust funds essential practical items for families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people across the UK. Grants cover white goods, specialist equipment, sensory toys, tablets, clothing, bedding, furniture, outdoor play gear, kitchen appliances, family breaks, and hospital travel costs. The focus is on alleviating disadvantage and improving quality of life, never medical care. The Trust prioritises families caring for children and young people with severe disabilities or life-limiting conditions across physical, sensory, cognitive, behavioural, or complex needs, requiring high support in three or more functional areas. Support is available to families in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.

Eligible applicants are low-income UK families raising disabled or seriously ill children and young people. The Trust requires proof of income, benefits, and disability evidence. It prioritises families on the lowest incomes, caring for children with severe disabilities or life-limiting conditions that require high support in three or more functional areas. Organisations are rarely funded; the Trust's model is family-direct. There is no religious restriction on applicants.

The Trust does not fund medical care, cash, core or project costs, advocacy, or unrestricted organisational support. It also does not fund organisations in most cases, as its model is focused on direct support to individual families.

The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications. It delivers grants directly to families at mass scale, informed by user voice, research, and partnerships with UK governments. The funding style is practical and family-direct, focusing on essential items rather than institutional or project-based support.
