Frognal Trust

The Trust funds a range of causes including support for older people facing isolation, children and young people with disadvantages or disabilities, people with disabilities—particularly those with blindness or visual impairment—medical research into disease prevention and treatment, and environmental heritage preservation. It prioritises direct interventions such as outreach services, community facilities, equipment, and research that deliver tangible impact. The Trust supports both project and core costs. It operates throughout England and Wales.

Eligible applicants are UK registered charities and community groups. The Trust favours small to medium grassroots organisations and has no strict income thresholds, welcoming both local and national charities. It prioritises work benefiting older people, children and young people with disadvantages or disabilities, people with disabilities—especially those with visual impairments—and medical research. The Trust operates across England and Wales.

The Trust excludes funding for animal welfare and religious promotion. It does not support institutions whose main object is the care or welfare of animals or the propagation of any religious beliefs.

The Trust provides flexible, discretionary grants that can cover both project and core costs, without requiring matched funding. It accepts unsolicited applications and makes decisions based on trustee judgment. The Trust is known for its low-profile, responsive funding style, offering modest grants to achieve tangible benefits.
