Fuel Allotment

The Fund provides grants for poverty relief, education, community activities and disability support. It helps with essentials such as fuel, household items and school uniforms, as well as funding local projects that tackle hardship and improve wellbeing. Priority is given to work that directly benefits residents in Hampton, Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick, Teddington, Twickenham and Whitton, with a wider area of benefit across the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. For individual grants, the Fund also supports people living on the Mill Farm and Edgar Road estates. The aim is to relieve financial, physical and emotional hardship and create opportunities to live well.

The Fund supports individuals experiencing hardship and local charities and community groups serving the priority areas. Eligible organisations include registered charities and community groups based or working in Hampton, Hampton Hill, Hampton Wick, Teddington, Twickenham, Whitton, Heathfield, and the Mill Farm and Edgar Road estates. There is no religious restriction. The Fund prioritises applicants who can demonstrate a clear link to local hardship and a direct benefit to residents in its defined area.

The Fund does not support repeat school uniforms. It also excludes projects that fall outside its defined area of benefit or that lack a clear connection to relieving hardship. Applications for activities that do not directly benefit residents in the priority areas or the wider borough are not considered.

The Fund offers one-off grants and does not require match funding. It welcomes unsolicited applications from both individuals and community organisations. Grants are made for practical help that addresses hardship, with a focus on local benefit.
