Generations Foundation

Generations Foundation, established in 2005 by the Finch family with trustees Bob, Rohini, and Stephen Finch, is a UK-based charity dedicated to transforming the lives of children and young people facing disadvantage, disability, ill health, poverty, family breakdown, or social exclusion. Rooted in principles of care, compassion, respect, and ethical action, it prioritizes practical, hands-on solutions that foster opportunities to thrive, starting locally in south-west London (especially Merton) but extending internationally without geographic limits. Its pragmatic approach emphasizes tangible impacts on quality of life, wellbeing, social mobility, and sustainability, guided by local insights and long-term stewardship, with no financial benefits to trustees.

The Foundation funds children's welfare, youth development, mental health support, gang involvement reduction, family assistance, community engagement, disability inclusion, skills training, and crisis aid. Grants cover project work, core costs, capital projects, and emergency relief, supporting organizations like Regenerate (youth mentoring in Roehampton), Momentum Children’s Charity (families of children with cancer), Jigsaw4u (care leavers in Merton), and Wimbledon Guild (hardship relief). Internationally, it backs schools for blind/disabled children in Gujarat, India; sports/education in Ghana; healthcare at Global Hospital, India; and initiatives in Sri Lanka, Haiti, Libya, Romania, Madagascar, and Paraguay. Responsive efforts include the Keep Kids Connected campaign for digital access during COVID-19.

Eligible applicants include UK and international charities of any legal status, with a preference for small- to medium-sized, community-based groups working directly with vulnerable children, youth, and families; no income thresholds or religious restrictions apply. Unsolicited applications are not accepted—organizations must email generationstrust@mail.com for an initial discussion, proceeding to full forms only if invited (EOI then full process). Grant amounts vary by project scale with no published ranges or deadlines; meetings occur as needed.
