Gordon Gray Trust

The Trust funds work in health and disability, including services for people with complex health needs, mental health counselling, emergency support, and disability services such as respite care, day services, therapeutic activities, and peer support groups for those with learning disabilities, autism, and ADHD. It also supports overseas aid and famine relief, environmental conservation through community-led green initiatives and habitat protection, recreation via inclusive sports, outdoor activities, after-school clubs, and creative arts for wellbeing, and welfare for children through family support, early intervention, youth mentoring, and SEND education, alongside elderly care combating isolation through befriending, day centres, and holistic wellbeing programmes. Supported costs include core costs and projects that are person-centred, preventative, and community-led. The Trust prioritises smaller grassroots charities serving Gloucestershire and Worcestershire.

Only registered charities may apply. The Trust prioritises smaller grassroots organisations serving Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. Beneficiary groups include children and young people with disabilities, families caring for those with complex needs, isolated elderly residents, and communities facing poverty or health crises. The Trust has no religious restrictions and is open to charities of all backgrounds.

The Trust does not fund individuals, research projects, campaigns, or large capital projects. It focuses solely on organisational efforts with demonstrable efficiency, excluding causes that fall outside its priority areas of health, disability, welfare, and environmental or recreational work.

The Trust supports both core costs and project costs. It has a strong preference for low-overhead, high-impact delivery and is less inclined towards innovation or multi-year commitments. Unsolicited applications are welcome. The Trust favours smaller grassroots charities and a no-frills, efficient approach to grant-making.
