Green Action Trust

The Trust funds nature-based solutions including climate mitigation and adaptation, biodiversity enhancement, vacant land restoration, urban and rural greenspace creation, active travel greening, woodland expansion, river catchment management, habitat restoration, and placemaking. It supports large-scale green infrastructure, such as the Central Scotland Green Network, benefiting disadvantaged communities, the public, local authorities, and partner organisations. Its work focuses on environmental justice, health outcomes, and carbon sequestration, exclusively across Scotland.

The Trust works with disadvantaged communities, the public, local authorities, and partner organisations. It typically engages medium or large organisations capable of major projects. There is no restriction on religious context. The Trust does not accept unsolicited applications; interested parties must initiate phone enquiries to explore strategic partnerships or commissions with public bodies and pre-selected stakeholders.

The Trust does not fund core costs, unrestricted support, or emergencies. It also does not accept unsolicited applications, so organisations without prior contact or invitation are unlikely to receive funding.

The Trust provides funding for project delivery and capital works, with support varying in scale. It works by invitation or through strategic partnerships, often as a preferred delivery partner for Scottish Government initiatives.
